Project:

Living Room re-design. Current living room, carpeted with Adams style fire place and surround.

 

Aim/Customer Instructions:

 

Create one off living room feature to combine plasma TV, fire place and surround sound system. Room to be modern in design and to incorporate new oak framed, brown leather sofa. All wires where possible to be hidden

 

Method:

 

Remove existing carpet and underlay (to be kept by customer)

Remove existing fireplace and surround (to be kept by customer)

Remove and dispose of existing skirting boards keeping architraves

Form in 2” x 2” timber false chimney breast.

Form in 3” x 2” timber supports for plasma and in built recess for surround sound system

Remove and strip existing wallpaper border to top of coving line

Feed audio, video, composite and aerial  and power leads into chimney breast.

Plasterboard new chimney breast, size walls and hang new flock style wallpaper

Connect up plasma fire to gas supply

Supply and fix coving around top of chimney breast

Supply and lay laminate flooring under fibreboard insulation

Supply and fix new bullnose skirting, hiding wires behind.

Emulsion walls in two coats of pecan

Undercoat and gloss all woodwork in white.

Supply and lay 2 off door strips

N.B

Plasma fires are not designed to have combustible materials placed above them, therefore a shelf was fitted above the fire with silver heat tape fixed to the underside.
